For the majority of my professional life I have championed technology as the medium of change which can impact positively that which we do daily; at home, in the workplace, and in the classroom. However, it was not until I attended the Annual NAIS Conference in February 2008 and listened to the powerful messages of Sir Ken Robinson, Daniel Pink, and Ian Jukes did I realize that my professional life must be dedicated to:

T.L.C. – Technology + Leadership = Change

To paraphrase Michael Douglas’s character Gordon Gekko in Wall Street:

“Change, for lack of a better word, is good. Change is right. Change works. Change clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit. Change, in all its forms, change in life, in wealth, in knowledge has marked the upward surge of mankind.”

Change has not however, in the world of education, taken hold. Ian Jukes attributes this inability to embrace change to "TTWWADI"; That's The Way We've Always Done It. This is the hurdle I strive to jump daily as I work to be a "change catalyst” for those around me.
